1. Who is responsible
TapNext is operated by Looping Bits LLC, a company registered in the United States. Looping Bits LLC is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected].
2. Information we handle
- Account information. Your email address, name when provided by your sign-in provider, account identifiers, sign-in information, and confirmation that you meet the adult eligibility requirement.
- Assistance content. Microphone audio, screen images shared during assistance, text derived from your speech, questions, and responses. Shared content can include personal information visible on your screen or spoken by you.
- Purchases and usage. Subscription and transaction identifiers, purchase status, plan, remaining minutes, usage measurements, gift-subscription records, and refund or cancellation records. Apple or Stripe handles payment details through its payment interface; TapNext does not receive your full card number or security code.
- Technical information. Connection and request identifiers, app and device information, IP addresses, errors, and operational logs used to run, protect, and troubleshoot the service.
- Support information. The contact details and messages you choose to send us, and any diagnostic report you choose to share.
- Optional analytics. If available and enabled by you, limited usage events help us improve the experience. These events exclude screen images, voice recordings, transcripts, task text, private links, and payment details.
3. Audio and screen sharing
When you start assistance and grant the relevant permissions, your audio and shared screen images pass through TapNext’s assistance services to the AI service that generates guidance. Our billing service receives account and usage information, rather than the audio and screen images themselves.
You choose when to start screen sharing. Pausing screen sharing stops new screen images from being sent; audio can continue while assistance remains active. Ending assistance stops microphone capture and closes the assistance connection. Returning to your Home Screen alone does not end sharing.
Screen filtering can help reduce accidental sharing, but it cannot identify every sensitive screen. Avoid sharing passwords, payment credentials, identity documents, or someone else’s private information. Stopping sharing does not erase information that has already been processed.
4. Why we use information
We use information to sign you in, provide spoken guidance, maintain session continuity, deliver subscriptions and minutes, process and reconcile purchases, answer support requests, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Optional analytics is used only when you enable it.
Where applicable data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on performing our agreement with you to provide the service, your consent for optional processing, our legitimate interests in securing and maintaining the service, and compliance with legal obligations. You can withdraw optional consent without losing the subscription or minutes you have purchased.
5. Service providers and sharing
We share information with providers where needed for the functions you use:
- Auth0 and your selected sign-in provider support authentication.
- Cloudflare and our hosting infrastructure operate the website, assistance connections, storage, security, and related services.
- Google Gemini processes assistance content to generate AI responses. Google’s API terms describe its processing and abuse-monitoring practices.
- OpenAI may process a limited task-related search query when the task-research feature is enabled. That function does not send the audio stream, screen images, or full conversation transcript as its search request.
- Apple, Stripe, and RevenueCat process payments or help us validate and manage purchases, subscriptions, and access.
- Resend and our email service deliver support messages. The web support form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to help prevent automated abuse.
If you choose to join the Discord community, Discord processes information under its own policy. Community posts can be seen by other members. Use private support for account or billing details. Buying a subscription for someone else does not give the buyer access to that person’s screen or conversations.
We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect people, our service, or legal rights. TapNext does not sell personal information or use it for cross-app advertising tracking.
Provider information: Google Gemini API terms, OpenAI API data controls, Cloudflare privacy policy, Stripe privacy policy, and RevenueCat privacy policy.
6. Retention
Different records serve different purposes and have different lifetimes:
- Assistance continuity. TapNext can temporarily retain limited recent text and task context to recover an interrupted session. This context has a two-hour expiry, which can be renewed by session-recovery updates. The recovery record does not contain raw audio or screen images.
- AI provider processing. Provider-side session resumption and abuse monitoring can retain information beyond the immediate response. Provider terms and enabled features govern that retention. Ending assistance is not a guarantee of immediate deletion by a provider.
- Accounts and billing. We retain records needed to maintain your account, track minutes and subscriptions, reconcile payments, address disputes, and meet applicable accounting, tax, and legal obligations. Some records may need to remain after account closure.
- Website sign-in. Remembered sign-in can last up to seven days. Expiry ends the session’s validity; it is not a promise that every stored copy or backup is erased at that instant.
- Diagnostics. Session diagnostic logs stored on your iPhone do not currently have automatic age-based deletion. Temporary report-export copies are eligible for cleanup after 48 hours; that is separate from the source logs. Reports are designed to exclude raw audio, screen images, credentials, and conversation transcripts.
- Optional analytics. The retention period is shown when the feature is available. Withdrawing consent through Privacy choices deletes retained optional events and stops collection under that consent.
- Support, security, and backups. We retain information as needed to handle your request, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, and maintain recovery records. Deletion requests are assessed against these purposes and any legal retention requirements; deletion is not instantaneous across every system and backup.
7. Your choices and requests
You can pause screen sharing, end assistance, and change microphone permissions in iPhone Settings. Where optional analytics is available, use Privacy choices to manage consent and retained optional events.
To request access, correction, a copy, restriction, or deletion of your personal information, or to object to processing where applicable, contact [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Available rights and exceptions depend on your location and applicable law. You may also contact your local data-protection authority.
Ending assistance, deleting the app, canceling a subscription, and deleting an account are different actions. Cancel renewal through the store or service where you purchased; a privacy request alone should not be treated as confirmation that renewal has stopped.
8. Security and international processing
We use safeguards such as encrypted connections, access controls, and protected sign-in credentials. No service can guarantee absolute security. TapNext and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers are subject to applicable contractual or other lawful safeguards.
The website uses session cookies and similar storage for sign-in, security, and requested functions. These functions are separate from optional analytics.
9. Adults only
TapNext is intended for adults aged 18 or older and asks users to confirm adult eligibility. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and address it.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the service changes. The date above identifies the latest version. Where required, we will provide notice of material changes or request consent before optional processing changes.
Privacy contact: [email protected]. You can also use the private support form.
